2.7 million man-hours. One timelapse. The QE2, Dubai.
When the QE2 retired in 2008 and sailed to Dubai for its transformation into a luxury floating hotel, the scale of the refurbishment demanded a photographic record that could do it justice. Four PhotoSentinel units (two Mini and two Mach II) ran continuously throughout the project.

QE2 transformation timelapse
Setup
Four camera units were positioned around the vessel to capture the full scope of exterior refurbishment. The scale of the QE2 required multiple simultaneous vantage points. No single angle could tell the whole story of a 293-metre ship undergoing transformation.
Operation
The timelapse record captured the complete transformation from retired cruise liner to operational hotel. The final video documented over 2.7 million man-hours (equivalent to 308 years) of painstaking exterior refurbishment work, compressed into a sequence that finally does justice to the scale of the project.
